A PETITION
To the Federal Communications Commission
and Broadcast and Cable Television
We, classroom teachers of Alabama must speak out on behalf of
(1) America’s children and (2) Children in our classrooms. Children are routinely exposed to inappropriate (1) Images (2) Dialogue saturated with expressions of profanity and vulgarity.
Today, classroom teachers solicit your support to protect our children and families from this poison. Stop making our job more difficult. Delete broadcasts of profane words and images from your programming. Please act quickly for the benefit of (1) America’s youth and (2) Classroom teachers.
Children bring to the classroom what they hear on television. For example: “The Best Damn Sports Show.” Use of the word, Damn, is unwarranted. Use of the word does not improve the quality of the show. “The Best Sports Show” would enhance the show’s image.
